structurl started in 2006-2008 with a vision to build the simplest content management systems for small to medium businesses in South Africa and get them online. structurl SE (site essentials) became the product and a number of smaller companies hosted their sites using structurl SE and on structurl managed hosting. With the CMS landscape changing and the number of open source solutions available it became clear that best of breed CMS were more suitable and flexible even for these small to medium businesses and so some of the clients were replatformed or migrated to other services providers. structurl now serves as the core engineering service for Architect Forward (ArchitectFWD™) and to support legacy structurl SE deployments. The focus here now is to leverage cloud, open source, modern engineering patterns and practices to build out not only software as a service (SaaS) but also other custom / bespoke or composed solutions which can be tailored through engaging structurl and architectfwd services.
structurl SE is now legacy however there is a roadmap item to begin envisioning the future. It is still a core element of structurl vision and purpose to deliver the simplest content management service out of the box. Some services need very basic content management as alternative to more enterprisey CMS platforms, and a design and MVP is planned in the next 2 years (2026-2028)
